Lomba Debat Bahasa Inggris Tingkat SMA/SMK Negeri dan Swasta se-Kabupaten Jember

Pada tanggal 27 April 2019, tiga taruna perwakilan SMK Perikanan dan Kelautan Puger mengikuti Lomba Debat Bahasa Inggris Tingkat SMA/SMK Negeri dan Swasta se-Kabupaten Jember. Tiga nama tersebut adalah Sevony Destri S., Tri Yuli Setyoningrum, dan Imam Muhtadi. Lomba debat tersebut membahas beberapa topic yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari - hari seperti lingkungan sosial, perempuan dan anak, pendidikan, dan bahkan politik. Selama kegiatan lomba berlangsung para taruna berjuang dalam timnya tanpa bantuan dari para pembina. Mereka berusaha sepenuh hati untuk menjadi pemenang demi mengharumkan nama SMK Perikanan dan Kelautan Puger. Hasil lomba di hari pertama menunjukkan bahwa Tim SMK Perikanan dan Kelautan Puger berada di urutan peringkat ke sepuluh dalam kategori SMK.

This debating competition is called as NSDC which stands for National Schools Debating Competition. This event belongs to annual event in Jember. Many schools in Jember send their representatives to join this debating competition. The schools are from both SMA (high school) and SMK (Vocational high school). They compete each other for two days. The students as the representatives of Fisheries and Marine Vocational High School only joined the first day because they only get the top ten rank. While the team who can continue to the next day is only the ones who can make it top eight. Although the team of Fisheries and Marine Vocational High school cannot continue to the preliminary, they still happy since thisi is a good achievement as the first time joining a debate competition.
